A Fusion of old and new

The Santa Mónica Beach Resort & Spa has been designed as a contemporary resort but with elements of architecture across the grounds, restaurants and hotel encapsulating the historic heritage and cultural diversity of Cape Verde, a unique nation that arose at the crossroads of African and European history and was, until recently, a colony of Portugal.

Featuring pedestrianised, cobbled streets (a characteristic of the islands), hardwood decking and hand-carved stone features, the resort creates a luxurious holiday haven for residents long after they retreat from the sunshine.The resort features several fantastic restaurants, 11 tennis courts with coaching available, world-class childcare facilities run by a UK specialist, a wide range of waterfront activities and a 3000 m² luxurious spa within the hotel grounds.

With conservation and eco-awareness at the forefront of the design process, development resources have been sourced locally wherever possible, not only creating luxurious facilities of the highest quality, but a development that complements the history of, and blends with the idyllic settings of, Boa Vista Island.

Our awareness of environmental factors has been extremely important in the design process. In order to create an exclusive paradise for our clients, we have set out to preserve the area's natural settings. We also advocate the use of local craftsmen, builders and materials, playing a fundamental role in supporting the island's economy.
